Author's note:
life tale can only be fully
understood and appreciated by
remembering that by the end of the
main day of my trip I had been awake
for about thirty-six long hours and had
over nineteen more ahead of me until I got home.
I was loopy from sleep deprivation, but at the same time I had to
be hyperaware of my surroundings since I had no one traveling with me
and nowhere (such as a hotel room) to relax and safely let down my
guard, let alone to sleep. Therefore many of my experiences are carved
into my brain by necessity and have been given an inordinate amount of
attention by my heightened mental state.
Factor in that I’m kind of loco for the Ramones, and you might
be able to see where I’m coming from. I wanted to accurately capture
the excitement that I felt, so this account is not embellished in any way.
It’s just a simple attempt to preserve the most important details—and
some very trivial ones that affected me personally—for my own benefit. I hope other people can get
something out of it, too.
Hey! Ho! Let’s Go!
